Board Member
Serving as Outreach Director for Forest Hill Church for the past 16 years, John has overseen regional, national and international partnerships. He thrives on connecting and collaborating with leaders and partners for Kingdom impact across multiple sectors. John also directs new strategic initiatives for Forest Hill including leadership and church multiplication. Over the years, John has served on numerous local and international Boards, including being a founding board member with Urban Promise Charlotte.
Prior to joining Forest Hill, John worked with the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, launching their Servant Leadership Academy. John worked with First Union for thirteen years during the high growth merger stages of the banking industry, holding various corporate roles including Director of Leadership Development. m.

John has been connected to Freedom Communities almost since inception and has connected with the holistic nature of the mission. Joining the Board presents a nice blend of John’s background and passions with his heart to serve the city.
Hometown:
Originally from Atlanta, John grew up in Spartanburg, SC and graduated from University of South Carolina, where he met his wife of 30 years. He and his family live in Indian Land, SC.
