Suzanne Hunt

Since relocating from Pennsylvania with her husband and their five children, Suzanne Hunt has served as an educator, community volunteer, and advocate for youth and families. With over 15 years of experience driving positive change in Charlotte’s nonprofit sector, her career spans roles in education, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement — all rooted in a deep commitment to equity and opportunity for underserved communities.

A graduate of Bowie State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a concentration in Education, Suzanne also holds a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her leadership journey includes impactful roles with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Communities In Schools, and Heart Math Tutoring, where she championed initiatives that promote educational success and economic opportunity for families.

Suzanne believes that education and civic engagement are powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty and dismantling systemic inequities in society. Her work reflects a vision of creating thriving communities through holistic support and collaboration.

Beyond her professional achievements, Suzanne’s personal life reflects her deep commitment to community and family. Since relocating to Charlotte from Pennsylvania in 2003, she and her husband have raised their five children, instilling in them the values of education, service, and civic engagement. These experiences as a mother and community advocate inspire Suzanne’s vision for creating thriving neighborhoods and disrupting intergenerational poverty.
